Johannesburg - President Jacob Zuma was all prepared to meet with SuperSport United this morning, but did not expect he would get a bonus thrown in.
A visibly ecstatic Zuma could not contain his elation when Jesse Jackson showed up, all decked out in a Bafana Bafana jersey, to greet the South African President.
Zuma referred to Jackson as his "brother" saying they had come a long way.
He also had kind words for SuperSport United.
"They are a fantastic team. The fact that they have won the PSL three times in a row says it all …they are a great team," said South Africa's number one citizen.
United, who won the PSL championship for a third year in succession this year, has kept up their bid to secure a place in the last eight of the continent's top club competition.
Zuma wished them luck when they take on the African Champions League at the weekend.
Jackson, who is on a visit to the country said South Africa has changed over the years. Unity, he said, has made the country succeed. He had no doubt that the country would host a spectacular World Cup.
Relaxed and joking with the team, Zuma said the country was ready to receive those who will descend on it for the World Cup in June.
The President was confident that Bafana Bafana would reach the finals and surprise many critics.
"In fact, I really do not believe that we should pray that Bafana reach the quarterfinals," he said.
"They must reach the final. I have great confidence in Bafana Bafana and indeed, they will surprise a lot of people." Zuma said, adding that they are ready to face the world.
He called on all South Africans to support the team. - BuaNews
