Uganda: Museveni Stops Firms From Selling Sugar to Politicians

A day after this newspaper revealed Justice Minister Kahinda Otafiire's fight in Kenyan courts to salvage an impounded consignment of sugar, President Museveni has has ordered Trade Minister Amelia Kyambadde to stop manufacturers and importers from selling the commodity to politicians or individuals as government tries to stamp out hoarding and speculation which have sent prices soaring to record levels.
