The standard-bearer of the opposition National Union for Democratic Progress(NUDP), Nimba County Senior Senator, Prince Yormie Johnson, has said ECOWAS troops would be considered "mercenaries" if they are dispatched to Liberia without United Nations resolution.The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is considering the deployment of at least 820 police officers to Liberia to help secure the peace in the country. President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf confirmed ECOWAS' position during a meeting with media practitioners recently, said the decision was geared toward securing the peace in Liberia.
