Liberia: UN Security Council Praised for Helping to Consolidate Peace

Liberia's Foreign Minister, Dr. Toga Gayewea McIntosh, has praised the efforts of the United Nations Security Council in helping to consolidate the peace process in Liberia.Addressing members of the Security Council on Tuesday, Minister Gayewea McIntosh said United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) has played a pivotal role towards the maintenance of peace and stability throughout the country. "UNMIL's achievements have ranged from keeping the peace to building the capacity of state institutions. It has played a key role in the coordination of international assistance and filling critical logistical and infrastructural gaps," he said.
